Depuis les années 1990, les médicaments biologiques ainsi que les produits à base de protéines dérivés de cellules vivantes utilisant la biotechnologie, sont utilisés comme option de traitement pour les patients atteints de cancer. Depuis 2009, des thérapies biosimilaires (produits biologiques équivalents sur le plan thérapeutique) sont disponibles dans différents domaines thérapeutiques au Canada et ils sont sur le point de devenir disponibles pour une utilisation en oncologie. MD Analytics a demandé à 31 oncologistes et hématologues canadiens de donner leur point de vue sur l’introduction de thérapies biosimilaires pour le traitement du cancer.
